The Department of Community Medicine, KSHEMA organised an outreach program and scheduled a visit to Vatsalyadhama Ashrama, Kodialbail on 10th January 2023.
Medical Officer Dr Raksha, Interns Dr. Nikhil C Babu & Dr. Shahina and Mr Santhosh NP, Social worker conducted a general health check-up for the 26 inmates. Blood pressure and General Random Blood Sugar of the inmates were checked and systematically noted in the register
maintained for the purpose.
All the inmates were counselled regarding lifestyle modification, importance of regular exercise and a healthy diet. They were also educated regarding various symptoms of systemic hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Few inmates who required medications for minor ailments were provided with the same and inmates who required further follow up & treatment, were referred to the Urban Health Centre.
