The celebration of “World Creativity and Innovation Day” was marked by a formal inauguration on 30th April 2024, with the lighting of the lamp at the NUINS Learning Centre, Paneer Campus. Mrs. Prathima Sherigarthy, SIC Co-ordinator of NUINS, extended a warm welcome to the participants, followed by the distribution of prizes for the Essay competition and Model Making competition held on account of World Creativity and Innovation Day.
Saroprabha, IV semester secured the 1st prize with a cash award of Rs.750, Nandhana K H, IV semester received the 2nd prize and Shiny Jenifer received the 3rd Prize in the Essay Writing competition. In the Model Making competition, Yami, Phurbu and Dolma of II PBBSc secured the 1st prize with a cash award of Rs. 2000/- while Jisha, Melwin and Kavya bagged the 2nd prize with a cash award of 1500/-
Dr. Sriniketan G, President, IIC, Nitte DU encouraged students to actively engage in innovative activities in healthcare. Dr. Fatima Dsilva, Principal, NUINS emphasized the significance of creativity and innovation in addressing contemporary challenges.
The resource person, Dr. Shashikantha Karinka, Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte shared valuable insights on empowering youth innovators in the nursing profession, focusing on creativity, invention, innovation and collaboration opportunities for improved patient experience.
The workshop delved into fundamental aspects of entrepreneurship, covering a wide range of topics relevant to healthcare innovation. Participants had the opportunity to interact with the resource persons, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and knowledge.
A total of 50 students & 5 faculty members attended the program.
