University of Aveiro, Portugal and Nitte University, Mangalore, India entered into a formal agreement to promote academics and research cooperation. The Vice Chancellor of Nitte University, Prof. Ramananda Shetty and the Rector of Aveiro University, Prof. Manuel Antonia Assuncao signed a Memorandum of Understanding the 10th of February, 2017 at Aveiro, Portugal in the presence of the Research Director of Nitte University, Prof. Indrani Karunasagar and the Vice Rector of University of Aveiro, Prof. Jose Fernando Mendes. The four member delegation from Nitte University lead by the Vice Chancellor visited several Institutions at Aveiro University, including Biomedicine, Allied Health Sciences, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Engineering, Bioinformatics and Environmental Sciences and held extensive discussions to explore possibilities of educational and research ties. University of Aviero is one of the top Universities in Portugal attracting students from over 75 nations. During the course of interactions, several research groups from the University of Aveiro have expressed their interests to establish linkages with Nitte University, an 'A' grade University accredited both by Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of India.
