The 2nd year P.B.Bsc(N) students and faculty of Community Health Nursing department of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences conducted a nutritional programme for under five children at Natekal area on 23-02-2017. The team was headed by Mrs. Neetha Kamath, Mr. Jince V John, Ms. Bency Elsa, and Ms. Merin Mathew. The nutritional programme started at 09:30 am. The menu for the under five children was planned.
The students were divided into three groups to prepare the diet. Each group was given the responsibility to prepare the diet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu for breakfast included milk, bread and omelette and aloo paratha , for lunch it was boiled rice, dhal, soyabean curry, and curd salad, for evening it was milk with sugar and ragi ladoo and for dinner it was rice, chapatti, fish curry, spinach and fruit salad . At the end the prepared menu was displayed. Ms. Ashwini welcomed the gathering, Ms. Joshma educated the community people on preparation, ingredients and calorie requirements of the prepared menu. 25 community people were benefited from the program. The programme concluded with vote of thanks.
