NUCSER observes “World Malaria Day 2019” -

With the aim to create awareness on malaria, the NSS unit of NUCSER organized “World Malaria Day” on 26th April 2019 at the institute premises. The highlight of the event was a street play, conceptualized and performed by the students of the institute to spread the message about the danger that malaria poses and how every year it takes a significant toll in this part of the country.

Prof. Dr. Indrani Karunasagar, Director of the institute, inaugurated the program and spoke on the active research on this topic that is being carried out in the Centre and how every health science institute, particularly those involved with public health programs should think of creating maximum awareness and the measures to be taken to avoid the infection and the spread of malaria.

Mr. Anoopkrishna, a PhD scholar working on malaria related research topic rendered a brilliant theme song, which he composed in local language to spread the message of malaria menace and the measures on mosquito control. Dr. Rama Adiga, the NSS Co-ordinator of the institute, proposed the vote of thanks.
