The Youth Red Cross Unit of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences in association with the Indian Resuscitation Council organized a one-day training cum certification program on Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support on 16th July 2019 at 9 am at Chintana Hall, Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital.
Mrs. Latha S, Youth Red Cross Co-ordinator introduced the dignitaries and welcomed the gathering. The chief guest, Major (Dr.) Shivakumar Hiremath, Medical Superintendent, JKSHCH inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The chief guest in his address emphasized on the importance of updating the knowledge and skills for continuous development among students. Prof. Dr. Fatima D Silva, Principal, NUINS congratulated the participants from Dhanvanthari College of Nursing and also acknowledged the continuous support from the Dept. of Anesthesiology, JKSHCH for all the skill training endeavors of NUINS.
The resource persons, Dr. Sripada G Mehandale, Professor & Head, Dept. of Anesthesiology and Critical Care and Dr. Gayathri Bhat, Professor, Dept. of Anesthesiology & Chief Co-ordinator NU-MEDISIM discussed about the IRC guidelines on BCLS and provided hands-on training to the students. Mrs. Josmitha D’Souza, Research Scholar, NUINS anchored the program.
