News from NMAMIT | KSTA funded 5-day FDP on 'Recent Trends in Application of AI&ML in Engineering'

The Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with the Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning organized a 5-day Faculty Development Program on 'Recent Trends in Application of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in Engineering', from 22nd to 26th March 2021, mainly funded by Karnataka Science & Technology Academy (KSTA), Govt. of Karnataka.

Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT presided over the inaugural function held on 22nd March. Dr. TN Nagabhushana, Former Principal, SJCE, Mysuru delivered the inaugural talk. Dr. JB Simha and Dr. Praveen P from M/s Numentrix, Bengaluru were the industry resource persons.

Dr. Shashikantha Karinka, Head, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering welcomed the gathering and spoke about the efforts of the department in adopting AI&ML. Dr. Srinivasa Pai P, Coordinator of the FDP spoke about the program. Dr. Rashmi P Shetty, Co-Coordinator compered the program and delivered the vote of thanks. Experts from NITK, Surathkal; IIT Bombay; Jadavpur University and SJCE, Mysuru and internal experts presented talks and conducted hands-on lab in 17 sessions during the 5 days. Dr. Annappa from NITK, Surathkal was present during the valedictory function. Participants both internal and external from nearby colleges were present during the FDP and the participation was both in online and offline mode.
