News from NSAM PU, Mangaluru | Scientific Temper during Covid-19

A guest talk on Scientific Temper during Covid -19 was organized by the Career Guidance Committee of Dr. NSAM PU College on 1st April 2021 at the college auditorium. Mr. Narendra Nayak, President of the Federation of Indian Rationalist Association participated as the resource person of the program. He enlightened the students on superstitious beliefs and its negative impact on the society. He also urged everyone to develop a scientific temperament to overcome superstitious beliefs.

Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty K presided over the program. Addressing the gathering he said that `Creating awareness about superstition is the need of the hour. Students need to inculcate the values of scientific thinking and appreciate scientific development which will be useful during the pandemic`. He also advised the students not to rely on false messages circulated in social media, especially for health related remedies.

The program was coordinated by Ms. Geetha Shetty, Lecturer in Physics. All the first year students attended the program.
