News from ABSMIDS | Dental Screening Camp

A Dental Screening Camp was conducted for children & pregnant women under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Manju R, Head, Dept. of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry as part of the Nutritional Health Camp organised by the Dept. of Community Medicine, KSHEMA at the Inner Wheel Club, Puttur on 29th September 2021.

The objective of the camp was to provide basic dental health education to children and motivate them to practise dental hygiene. 21 children underwent oral examination, treatment plan was explained and appointment cards were given to the caregivers.

Documentation of all the advised treatments to be performed on children was made on the camp forms and referrals were sent to Dept. of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore. Oral hygiene instructions were given to all the parents to educate them regarding the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene.
