News from MRSMEMHS | Awareness program on cyber crime & protection of child rights

An awareness program on Cyber Crime and Protection of Child Rights was held on 12th December 2021 at Dr. M Ramanna Shetty Memorial English Medium High School in collaboration with the Federation of Disciplinary Resource Centre, Mangalore; Commission of Child Rights and Grama Panchayaths of Haleangadi, Kemral, Padupanambur & Kinnigoli.

The program was inaugurated by Mr. Arun Pradeep D’Souza, Development Officer, Kemral - Padupanambur Grama Panchayath.

The resource person Mr. Ganesh M Nayak, threw light on Cyber Crime, substance abuse, and Cyber bullying that victimize adolescents. He stressed on the need for respecting and protecting privacy in social media by citing a few examples.

Dr. Chitra, Medical Officer, Kemral Health Centre spoke on staying safe on social media and protection of child rights.

The aim of the program was to sensitize parents, teachers and students about Child Rights, Cyber Crime and Substance Abuse.

Teachers and students of Govt. Schools in the locality, health workers, parents, and a few select people witnessed the program.
