News from KSHEMA | Cellomics – Indo Japan Lab Inaugural Event

A new “CELLOMICS” laboratory (part of Indo-Japan MEXT Project) at Central Research Laboratory, KS Hegde Medical Academy with state-of-art facilities for invitro cell culture was inaugurated on 12th September 2022 by Shri. N Vinaya Hegde, Chancellor, Nitte DU. The project investigators from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Miyazaki, Japan - Dr. Madhyastha Harishkumar, Sr. Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Applied Physiology; Prof. Dr. Hirotake Sawada, Dept. of Paediatrics; Dr. Takuji Hinoura, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Public Health and Dr. Muraoka Jyuunske, Dept. of OB&G and Professor & Chairman, Department of Public Health, University of Miyazaki Dr. Yoshiki Kuroda were present at the inaugural function. Prof (Dr) M Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Prof (Dr) B Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor and Prof (Dr) M S Moodithaya, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Nitte DU were the guests. 

Prof (Dr) Praveenkumar Shetty, Director (R&D) Nitte DU , Prof (Dr) P S Prakash, Dean, KSHEMA, Dr. Amrith Mirajkar, Vice Dean (Academic), KSHEMA, Dr. Jayaprakash Shetty K, Vice Dean (Admn), KSHEMA, Prof (Dr) Fatima Dsilva, Chairman, Nitte-SSP Forum, Project investigators from Nitte DU - Prof. Dr. Suchetha Kumari N, Dept. of Biochemistry, KSHEMA, Prof. Dr. Shipra Sonkusare, Dept. of OB&G, KSHEMA, Dr. Prashanth B. Naik, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Paediatrics, KSHEMA, Dr. Shilpa. S. Shetty, Asst. Professor, Research staff, scholars, non-teaching staff of Central Research Laboratory, KSHEMA were also present. 

The inaugural program was followed by guest lectures by Dr. Shipra Sonkusare on Environmental Toxins & Pregnancy; Dr. H Gangadhara Bhat and Dr. B Naveenchandra on Applications of Geo-information Technology in Public Health.
