A 3-day summer camp “New Waves - 2023” (Environment: Awareness & Action) was organized by Dr. MRSM English Medium School from 4th April to 6th April, 2023, to give students an experience beyond their textbooks. Under the guidance of Dr Satyajit K T, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Physics, NMAMIT 48 students grabbed the opportunity to be trained by erudite resource persons in their area of proficiency.
Dr Lakshmikantha H, Environment Officer, State Pollution Control Board, Udupi, inaugurated the camp. In his address, he urged the students to observe simplicity as the mantra for controlling pollution of every kind and highlighted the significance of water in our lives.

- Bird watching - Ms. Indira S, wildlife enthusiast.
- The Joy of Biological Research with Unicellular & Multicellular Organisms - Faculty of Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research.
Day 2
- Geometry and Geography with hands-on activities - Dr Satyajit KT, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Physics, NMAMIT.
- Resolving local problems using geo-tagging - Dr Smitha Hegde, Dy. Director, NUCSER
- Remote Sensing with hands-on training - Dr Bhojaraja B E, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Civil Engg, NMAMIT.
- Moon Origin and Geology - Dr Ganeshraj, Former Director, ISRO, Bangalore.
The closing ceremony was held on 6th April. Dr Sathish Kumar Bhandary, Vice Chancellor, Nitte University congratulated the school for organizing a meaningful summer camp.
Dr G Srinikethan, Director, R&D (Technical), Nitte University assured to help any study taken up by the students of the school.
