COSMOS, the Science Association of Dr. NSAM PU College was inaugurated on 8th September 2023 with great fervor and enthusiasm. The inaugural ceremony witnessed an enlightening and thought-provoking speech by the esteemed guest of honor, Dr. Shruthikeerthi Raj, who emphasized the significance of systematic living and the importance of nurturing innovation. He began his speech by throwing light on the elemental aspects of the earth and stressed that the world we inhabit, thrives on the precise balance of its five fundamental elements, and any disorder in this equilibrium could prove catastrophic for humanity. Drawing parallels between the ordered universe and our own lives, he cautioned that even the slightest deviation from this systematic balance could jeopardize our existence. He urged the audience to embrace discipline and systematic living as a means to ensure the earth's survival for generations to come, highlighting the damaging impact of human activities on the environment.

He commended the students for choosing Nitte Institution, which he lauded as a symbol of quality education and the perfect platform to shape their futures. He applauded the innovative approach taken for the inauguration, encouraging students to nurture their creativity throughout their academic journey.

Principal Dr. Naveen Shetty reflected on how, despite the absence of modern technologies in the past, people lived in content. He mentioned that the rapid advancements in technology and science have led to dependency and a shift in our way of life. He acknowledged the patience and discipline exhibited by the students and urged them to embark on their careers with innovative thinking, encouraging them to work on their hidden talents and prepare for a bright and promising future.

The event was well-organized with Adithi Shetty serving as the efficient compere. The chief guest was introduced with grace and eloquence, setting the tone for the inspiring speeches that followed. As part of the inaugural function, a list of programs for the upcoming year were presented to the attendees.

Ms. Annapoorna Naik, Vice-Principal & Program Coordinator, outlined a diverse range of activities and initiatives aimed at fostering scientific curiosity and creativity among students. Lecturers Ms. Vismitha and Ms. Manasvi were also introduced as guides & mentors to support the students during their journey in the Science Association.

The inauguration of COSMOS marked a significant milestone in the academic calendar of the college. It left students, faculty and guests with a renewed sense of purpose to live systematically, embrace innovation and strive for a brighter and sustainable future.
