NITTE confers “Good Aquatic Stewardship Award” to Aquatic Biosystems, Mangaluru

As a part of the Sustainable Development Goals initiatives, Nitte (Deemed to be University) conferred Aquatic Biosystems, located at Vamanjoor, Mangaluru, with “Good Aquatic Stewardship Award” on 26th December 2023, for practicing scientific and sustainable approaches in ornamental fish farming. Every year, Nitte University recognizes aquatic farmers/entrepreneurs involved in fish farming practices for good stewardship practices.

Aquatic Biosystems bagged this award for their innovative wastewater treatment plant, built on Israeli technology, that works in an integrated manner, without any external chemical treatment and this natural biological system allows the reuse of the water for fish breeding and culture.

On behalf of the University, Dr. Anirban Charkraborty, Director, NUCSER along with a team of faculty and research scholars felicitated the founding directors of Aquatic Biosystems, Dr. Ashwin Rai and Mr. Ronald D’Souza, with the award and a citation for their contributions to sustainable utilization of water resources.
