News from NMAMIT | Awareness Session on Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Program at PES University Bengaluru

NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, organized an awareness session on the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) program, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by Bajaj, at PES University, Bengaluru, on 10th August 2024. The event aimed to raise awareness among staff and students of engineering colleges in the Mangaluru & Udupi regions by inviting Principals and Training & Placement Officers.

The BEST program is a flagship initiative by Bajaj Engineering, designed to equip engineering students with industry-relevant skills, bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application. The program offers a 6-month residential Graduate Engineering Training Program in Smart Manufacturing, focusing on Industry 4.0 technologies. The eligible students need to appear for an Eng Aptitude Test as a part of the selection process. PES University has also signed a MoU with VTU and offers credit-based internship opportunities in 7th Semester. The second batch of BEST program at PES University starts from 2nd September 2024.

Dr. K S Shridhar, Registrar & Dean of Placements at PES University, along with Dr. Subhash Kulkarni, Principal of PESIT, Bengaluru South Campus, addressed the gathering. They provided an in-depth explanation of the program to the assembled Principals and Training & Placement Officers from institutions such as Sahyadri Engineering College Mangalore, SDMIT Ujire, Moodlakatte Institute of Technology Kundapura, and NMAMIT Nitte.

The speakers emphasized the importance of skill development in the rapidly evolving engineering landscape and highlighted the crucial role the BEST program can play in shaping the careers of young engineers. The session featured detailed presentations on the curriculum, training methodologies, course fees, financials involved for accommodation and the program's benefits.

The BEST program is now open for enrolment, and students from engineering colleges in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts are encouraged to seize this opportunity to enhance their skills and advance their career prospects.

The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte. Mr. Bharath Kumar, HoD, Counselling, Welfare, Training & Placements, coordinated the event and delivered the vote of thanks.
