News from NMAMIT | ELIXIR 2024

The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, NMAMIT hosted the thirteenth edition of its Mega Student Project Exhibition, ‘ELIXIR - Transforming Ideas into Reality’ on 21st & 22nd October, 2024 at Sadananda Auditorium, Nitte. The event was inaugurated by Shri Vishal Hegde, Pro-Chancellor (Admin), Nitte University.

A total of 126 projects were showcased over the two-day exhibition. Dr. Suryanarayana K, HoD, EEE welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of ELIXIR’s journey. Shri Vishal Hegde in his inaugural address appreciated the department for its efforts in connecting students, alumni and industry, through innovative projects with practical applications. He highlighted that such initiatives turn student ideas into practical solutions and can lead to even greater innovation.

Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT commended the department for consistently organizing ELIXIR for the past thirteen years and appreciated the efforts taken to build successful partnerships and collaborations across various organizations.

During the event, three in-house developed products - a general-purpose half-bridge test kit, a DC electronic load unit, and an automatic phase selector were launched for institutional use, designed by students and faculty. The projects demonstrated core concepts in electrical engineering, display of analog & digital circuits and applications of microcontrollers. The exhibition welcomed industry professionals, students from neighbouring schools and PU colleges, first-year students, students from other departments and alumni of the department. The event was financially supported by the department's alumni.
