The International Day of Girls and Women in Science marks the resolution set by the United Nations in 2015 to celebrate women & girls in science and raise awareness of the gender gap in science and technology. The Gender Sensitization Committee of NUCSER celebrated the International Day of Girls & Women in Science on 14th February 2025. Dr. Suma Ballal, Dy. Registrar, Nitte DU, graced the event as chief guest. She appreciated the institute for taking this initiative, aimed at inspiring young minds to reach great heights in science.
Engaging activities like quiz and poster-making competitions were organised to test the participants' knowledge in various fields of science and technology. Dr. Suchetha Kumari, Professor of Biochemistry, KSHEMA was felicitated on the occasion in recognition of her significant contributions to the field of science.
Dr. Biswajit Maiti, HoD, Nano-biotechnology delivered the presidential address. Dr. Mamatha, Member GSC, NUCSER proposed the vote of thanks.
