News from NMAMIT | Spread the True Concept of Women's Day among People: Dr. Harsha Priyamvada

NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 on 18th March 2025 in the Nitte Campus. Dr. Harsha Priyamvada, Asst. Superintendent of Police, Karkala Subdivision was the Chief Guest of the function.

Dr. Priyamvada delivered an inspiring speech on the role of women in law enforcement and the importance of gender equality across all sectors. She emphasized that Women's Day is not just about celebrating women but also about acknowledging and appreciating a society that supports and uplifts them. She encouraged women to pursue their goals with confidence, ambition and fearlessness.

The event was presided over by Prof. A. Yogeesh Hegde, Director (Campus Maintenance & Development). He highlighted the significance of education in empowering women and building a better society. He also discussed the role of institutions in fostering a safe and supportive environment for women's growth. He remarked that India has historically revered women, and this respect must continue.

Dr. Niranjan Chiplunkar, Principal, NMAMIT provided insights into the institution's foundation, remarkable progress and the strength of the female workforce & student population on campus.

Dr. Veenadevi Shastrimath, Professor, Department of E&C and Chief Warden of the Ladies Hostel, delivered the welcome address. Ms. Smitha Shetty, Admn Superintendent introduced the chief guest. Dr. Padmavati and Dr. Srividya, Associate Professors, ECE led the prayers. Ms. Shailaja Shetty, Finance Superintendent delivered the vote of thanks. The event was hosted by Ms. Shweta Bharath, Asst. Professor, Humanities.
