The Gender Sensitisation Cell, ABSMIDS organized International Women's Day 2026 on 13th March 2026 in collaboration with the Indian Society of Periodontology Implantology Study Group under the theme “Give to Gain.” The program began with an invocation song by Dr. Sreelakshmi, PG - Periodontology followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony.
Prof. (Dr) Shrinivas Bhat U, HoD, Psychiatry, KSHEMA was the guest of honour and resource person. Prof. (Dr) Mithra N Hegde, Principal, ABSMIDS presided over the function. Prof. (Dr) Amitha Ramesh, Member of Gender Sensitization Cell, ABSMIDS and Coordinator, welcomed the gathering. Prof. (Dr.) Biju Thomas, President ISPI, Mangalore Chapter introduced Prof. (Dr) Sreenivas Bhat U. Prof. (Dr) Anupama Prasad D, Member of Gender Sensitization Cell, ABSMIDS delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Bharathi, PG - Periodontology compered the program.
Prof. (Dr) Shrinivas Bhat U in his talk titled ‘Mental Health Matters’ dealt with aspects like loneliness, stress & depression. He spoke about the causes, effects and treatment plans for each condition, as well as the benefits of exercise, meditation, discipline and cultivating hobbies. The program was attended by 75 participants.
