The Library & Information Centre of ABSMIDS celebrated the National Librarian’s Day on 12th August 2026 at Vimshathi Bhavan.
Dr. Sujatha, Librarian welcomed the gathering. Dr. Vishala BK, Research Coordinator, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangalore, delivered a talk highlighting the contributions of Padma Shri Dr. SR Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India, and the evolving role of librarians in the digital era. Prof. (Dr) Mithra N Hegde, Principal, ABSMIDS, presided over the program.
As part of the celebration, an academic session on “AI Tools and Library Resources for Effective Research and Academic Writing” was conducted, with Dr. Vishala BK as the Resource Person. The session provided valuable insights and was a meaningful and enriching learning experience for all.
