The Department of Anaesthesiology & Critical Care, K S Hegde Medical Academy organized a guest lecture, “Beyond Borders: Exploring Anaesthesia and Critical Care in the UK” on 31st July 2026 at the Department Seminar Hall. The session was delivered by alumnus Dr. Nikhil Maruthi Pallath, Specialist in Intensive Care & Anaesthesia, Barking Redbridge University NHS Trust, Romford, London, with online participation from alumni Dr. Abhinav Prakash (2014 Batch), Speciality Doctor in Anaesthetics, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, UK and Dr. Nikhil Chakravarthy Y. R. (2016 Batch), Speciality Doctor in Anaesthetics, Royal Derby University Hospital NHS Trust, UK.
The interactive session provided postgraduates and faculty with valuable insights into fellowship opportunities, work-life balance, research prospects and the scope of anaesthesia in the UK. The program was highly informative & motivating, drawing on the speakers’ professional experiences.
