The National Service Scheme (NSS), in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Dr. NSAM First Grade College, Nitte, organized a one-day camp in Ajekar Paddy Field, near Vishnumurthi Temple on 29th August 2026. The program aimed to provide NSS volunteers with hands-on exposure to agricultural activities, create awareness about the importance of farming & rural life and foster teamwork, leadership, discipline and community spirit.
A total of 270 NSS volunteers and 17 faculty members participated actively in the camp, which also witnessed the enthusiastic support & participation of more than 550 members of the public. The activities included paddy-field work, awareness activities, team-building exercises, games and community interaction. The experiential learning opportunity enabled the volunteers to appreciate the efforts of farming communities while developing cooperation, communication, leadership and service-oriented values. The program successfully strengthened the bond between the institution, NSS volunteers and the local community and served as a meaningful initiative promoting rural engagement, agricultural awareness and the spirit of social service.
