Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2026 at Dr. NSAM PU College, Nanthoor. Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Col. Prem Kumar Shetty stated that India is emerging as a powerful global force and is now the world's fourth-largest economy. He noted that the country can make greater progress if its youth, who form the majority of the population, dedicate themselves responsibly and wholeheartedly to their respective fields. He added that there is no doubt the country will emerge as a strong global power if a large number of youth join the armed forces.
Principal, Dr. Naveen Shetty K emphasized that citizens are enjoying freedom today, due to the sacrifices & martyrdom of our freedom fighters, reminding everyone not to forget their duties and responsibilities, while exercising these rights.
