The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of NITTE Institute of Physiotherapy organized an awareness programme on “Substance Abuse” under the theme “Youth for My Bharat” on 24th September 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lecture Hall I. The event was organized by NSS Coordinators Ms. Nireeksha Shenoy and Mr. Arun Varghese.
The programme was graced by Dr. Ajmal Bin Latheef, Assistant Professor, Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, KSHEMA, as the guest speaker. Prof. Dr. Dhanesh Kumar KU, Principal, welcomed the guests and participants.
Dr. Ajmal Bin Latheef delivered an informative session on substance abuse, covering the topic from basic concepts to advanced aspects, including awareness about substance use, its consequences, and the importance of prevention. The session was interactive, with the speaker actively engaging with the students and addressing their questions and concerns. At the conclusion of the programme, Mr. Arun Varghese, Faculty, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the speaker, management, faculty members, and students for their participation.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation and valuable awareness generated among the students regarding the prevention and harmful effects of substance abuse.
