The Taluk Level Table Tennis Tournament held at the Father Muller Indoor Stadium, Mangaluru on 14th August 2026 was organized under the joint auspices of the Department of Pre-University Education, DK and Dr. NSAM PU College, Nanthoor, Mangaluru.
Inaugurating the program, Shri Premanath Shetty, Sports Coordinator for DK District Pre-University Colleges, remarked: "Indoor games enhance students' concentration and help them make quick, appropriate decisions. To boost both mental strength & physical fitness, parents and educational institutions must take the initiative to encourage students to participate more in such sports. When the body and mind are in good health, a student can also excel in education."
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naveen Shetty K, Principal of Dr. NSAM PU College and President of the DK Pre-University College Principals' Association, stated: "Winning or losing is not the only important aspect of sports. By participating in sports, students can learn various lessons for life. Traits developed in sports, such as participation, accepting success & defeat equally, patience, teamwork, harmony and a striving mindset are essential for their future lives."
Mr. Karthik Rao, PED of Dr. NSAM PUC and Mr. Chandrashekhar, PED of Fr. Muller Educational Institutions, were present at the event.
