News from ABSMIDS | National Librarian’s Day

The Library & Information Centre of ABSMIDS celebrated the National Librarian’s Day on 12th August 2026 at Vimshathi Bhavan. Dr. Sujatha, Librarian welcomed the gathering. Dr. Vishala BK, Research Coordinator, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangalore, delivered a talk highlighting the contributions of Padma Shri Dr. SR Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India, and the evolving role of librarians in the digital era. Prof. (Dr) Mithra N Hegde, Principal, ABSMIDS, presided over the program.

As part of the celebration, an academic session on “AI Tools and Library Resources for Effective Research and Academic Writing” was conducted, with Dr. Vishala BK as the Resource Person. The session provided valuable insights and was a meaningful and enriching learning experience for all.





News from NRAMP | Talk on Post-Quantum Cryptography

The inauguration of the Technical Club of NRAM Polytechnic, Nitte for the academic year 2026-27 was held on 18th August 2026. A session on Post-Quantum Cryptography - Securing the Digital World Beyond Quantum Computing by Dr. Raghunandan KR, Assoc. Professor, CSE, NMAMIT was organized to introduce students to the emerging challenges in cybersecurity and the need for advanced cryptographic techniques in the era of quantum computing.

Dr. Raghunandan explained the fundamentals of quantum computing, its potential impact on existing cryptographic systems and the significance of post-quantum cryptographic algorithms in protecting sensitive digital information. The session helped students understand the future challenges and opportunities in cybersecurity.

News from NRAMP | Talk on “Semiconductor and VLSI Technology”

The Technical Club of NRAM Polytechnic, organized a talk on “Semiconductor and VLSI Technology – Recent Trends and Opportunities in India” on 18th August 2026, as part of its academic and technical activities to create awareness among students about the rapidly developing semiconductor industry and the growing opportunities in VLSI technology in India.

The session was delivered by Dr. Sushma P S, Assoc. Professor & HoD, VLSI, NMAMIT, Nitte She provided valuable insights into semiconductor technology, VLSI design, recent developments in the semiconductor sector and the career opportunities emerging in India.

The session helped students understand the relevance of semiconductor and VLSI technologies in modern electronic & computing systems and gain awareness of the skills & knowledge required for pursuing careers in the semiconductor and VLSI domains.

News from NRAMP | Session on “21st Century Life Skills”

The NSS Unit of NRAM Polytechnic in association with JCI Belman, organized an interactive session on “21st Century Life Skills – Essential Skills for a Successful Future” on 18th August 2026 by JCI Sen Deepak Raj, National Trainer, JCI India.

The session focused on important skills such as communication, leadership, time management, emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and adaptability. The interactive training provided students with practical insights into developing these competencies and applying them effectively in their personal and professional lives.

The NSS Unit of NRAM Polytechnic, Nitte, in association with JCI Belman, organized a talj on “From Campus to Career” on 18th August 2026. The program was designed to guide students in making a smooth transition from campus life to their professional careers and to create awareness about the expectations and challenges of the workplace.

The session was conducted by JC Dr. Gurumurthi, Zone Trainer, Zone-15, JCI India. He provided valuable information on early preparation for a career, developing professional skills, workplace expectations and steps students can take during their academic journey to prepare themselves for employment & future career opportunities. The session emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and continuously improving oneself to meet professional challenges.











News from NUINS | Two-Day National Workshop on “The Research Scholars’ Toolkit: Building Skills in Scoping Review and Reference Management

A 2-day National Workshop on The Research Scholars’ Toolkit: Building Skills in Scoping Review & Reference Management was organized by the Dept. of Child Health Nursing, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences on 10th & 11th August 2026 at the NUINS Learning Centre, Paneer, Mangaluru. Conducted under the guidance of Prof.(Dr)Sujatha R., HoD, Child Health Nursing, the workshop focused on strengthening research skills in scoping reviews, literature searching, evidence synthesis and reference management.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Sripada Mehandale, Chief Coordinator, Nitte University Medical Simulation Center and Professor of Anesthesiology, KSHEMA.

Resource persons Prof.(Dr) S J Nalini, Dr. Urmila U and Dr. Gopakumar V shared their expertise through interactive and hands-on sessions. The program was coordinated by Ms. Jeevitha Alva and Ms. Sheryl Fernandes.

News from NICO | Student Council Inauguration – 2026–27

The Student Council Inauguration of Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO), was held on 12th August 2026 at the University Auditorium, Paneer Campus.

Ms. Kushi Shetty took charge as the Student Council President and Mr. Rehan Ahmed as the Vice President. The Council members solemnly pledged to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, integrity and commitment and work for the welfare of the student community.

Dr. Moulya Baladi, Head, NICO, staff and students were present at the function. Dr. Pranamya Bhat, Student Council In-charge organized the program.

`News from NSAMEMHS | Awareness Talk on Good Touch and Bad Touch

Dr. NSAM English Medium High School conducted an awareness talk on Good Touch & Bad Touch to educate students on personal safety and safe versus unsafe physical boundaries.

The interactive session conducted on 5th August 2026 sensitised students through interactive discussions & relatable examples, to the concepts of safe touch & unsafe touch, while also helping them understand that not every touch is inappropriate. Real-life situations from everyday spaces such as corridors & washrooms were discussed to make the learning meaningful for the students. The session taught children to remain alert, communicate confidently and seek help from trusted adults, if required.
