A farewell function was organized on 10th September 2026 at MRP ITI in honour of Sri Harischandra A, Office Superintendent, on the occasion of his retirement. The program was presided over by Sri Raghavendra Adiga N L, Principal with Sri Vishwanath Rao, Training Officer, as the Chief Guest. Sri Sharath Rao welcomed the gathering, while Smt. Shayana B. read the Sanmana Patra. On behalf of the staff, Sri Abhijith and Sri Wilfred John Mathias spoke about Sri Harischandra A and his dedicated service.
The program was compered by Smt. Sunitha Praveen. Sri Suresh S proposed the vote of thanks. The function concluded with heartfelt wishes to Sri Harischandra A for a happy and peaceful retired life.

News from JKSHIM | Industry Masterclass on Technical Analysis of Stocks
Justice K.S. Hegde Institute of Management hosted an Industry Masterclass on Technical Analysis of Stocks by Mr Harish B, Proprietor of Premier Investments, Udupi on 29th August 2026. The session gave students hands-on exposure to the core tools of technical analysis. Topics covered included turnaround patterns, continuation patterns, RSI, MACD, ROC, moving averages and breakout analysis.
A significant part of the session focused on identifying breakouts and understanding volume confirmation. Mr. Harish walked students through how volume validates or invalidates a price move, giving them a practical lens to read market behaviour rather than just chart patterns in isolation. Students got the chance to connect classroom theory with how markets actually work. Real examples and market data made the concepts easier to apply rather than just memorise.
News from NIPT | Nitte Heart Smart Screening Programme
In line with the World Physiotherapy Day 2026 theme, which highlights the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in prevention, management and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease and stroke, Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy organised the Nitte Heart Smart Screening Programme on 8th September 2026. Chief Guest, Dr. Nareshchand Hegde, CTVS Surgeon, Justice K S. Hegde Charitable Hospital inaugurated the program.
The initiative focused on promoting cardiovascular health among young adults through a structured screening and exercise-prescription program. The process included informed consent, baseline assessment, cardiovascular health screening and testing, assessment of findings and personalised exercise and lifestyle prescription. The program successfully translated the World Physiotherapy Day 2026 message into a practical preventive-health initiative, highlighting the important role of physiotherapists in cardiovascular risk identification, physical activity promotion, health education and personalised exercise prescription.
A total of 114 students aged 18-25 years from the constituent colleges of Nitte University participated in the program convened by Dr. Abeeshna Ashok, Assoc. Professor and coordinated by Mr. Arun Varghese, Asst. Professor, NIPT.
News from NMAMIT | Research Skill Enhancement through immersive hands-on training for M.Tech students
A 3-day workshop on ‘Research Skill Enhancement through Immersive Hands-on Training’ was conducted for the MTech students of CSE, VLSI, Structural Engineering, Mechatronics and Cyber Security of NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte on 7th September 2026.
A total of 68 postgraduates benefited from the sessions which focused on topics including ‘Research process and Literature review’, ‘Empowering Research with Tools’, ‘Structuring research article for high impact journals and editorial expectations’, ‘Introduction to research and research communication/presentation’, ‘Review process and publication in IEEE Access ’, ‘Publications and report writing (selection of journals)’, ‘Funding opportunities from college’, ‘Introduction to Python Programming’, ‘How to develop a Multidisciplinary research approach’ and ‘Scientific Ethics’.
Dr. Praveen Kumar Shetty, Director (R&D), Nitte University was the chief guest and Dr. Nagesh Prabhu, Vice Principal, NMAMIT, presided over the function. The program was coordinated by Dr. Sneha Nayak, Assoc. Professor, Biotechnology; Dr. Shanmukha Shetty, Assoc. Professor, Civil Engineering; Prof. (Dr) Vijeesh V, Assoc. Director (R&D).

News from NICO | Teacher’s Day Celebration
Teacher’s Day Celebration at Nitte Institute of Communication was held on 9th September 2026 at the University Auditorium, Paneer campus bringing together faculty and students for a joyful and memorable occasion. The celebration was thoughtfully planned and executed by the NICO Students Council, with active participation and support from students across the institute.
The program featured beautiful decorations, a lively student-performed skit, cake cutting and a series of engaging & entertaining games for the teachers. Dr. Pranamya Bhat, Students Council In-charge coordinated the program.
News from NIPT | World Physiotherapy Day Celebrations
Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy organized a Walkathon from Madani Nagar, Kuthar Junction to Deralakatte on 8th September 2026, to commemorate World Physiotherapy Day. The event aimed to spread awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse, especially among the younger generation through the campaign, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.
The Chief Guest for the program was Ms. Vijaykranthi, ACP South, Mangaluru and the Guests of Honour were Prof. (Dr) M Shantaram Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte DU; Prof. (Dr) M S Moodithaya, Vice-Chancellor, Nitte DU and Dr. Sandeep Rai, Dean, KSHEMA.
Principal, Prof. (Dr) Dhanesh Kumar welcomed the gathering. Chief guest, Ms. Vijaykranthi, highlighted the rising rate of drug consumption among the younger generation, emphasizing its adverse effects on an individual’s physical & psychological well-being. She also discussed the legal consequences of drug use, which may include imprisonment. Following the inaugural address, a pledge against drug abuse was administered to the participants by Ms. Vijaykranthi. Ms. Samata Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.
The Walkathon was flagged off at 9:15 a.m. by the dignitaries. The event was attended by eminent personalities which included members of Belma Grama Panchayat, Committee members of Madani Nagar Masjid, Heads of Institutions / Departments, faculty and members of the press. The program concluded with an impactful dance performance by NIPT students, portraying the harmful effects of drug consumption and substance abuse.
News from NMAMIT | Prathighatha - Street Play raises awareness on Suicide Prevention
On the occasion of Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September 2026, a street play titled ‘PRATHIGHATHA’ was performed by Taaleem Club in collaboration with the COPE Club at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte. The street play aimed at creating an awareness about suicide prevention & emphasizing the importance of valuing life and seeking support during difficult times.
News from NMAMIT | First Place at National-Level
Prajna Mahabaleshwar Hegde, Srujan Srinivasmurthy Kulkarni and Suparna Yogesh of V semester B.Tech ( VLSI Design & Technology) secured the first place in ‘Veltraxx 26’, a 24-hour National Level VLSI Hackathon organised by the Department of Electrical Engineering - VLSI Design & Technology, Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering & Technology, Coimbatore (affiliated to Anna University, Chennai) on 29th August 2026.
The hackathon was conducted under the ‘Chip to Startup - C2S’ program of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, providing participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their technical expertise, innovation and problem-solving abilities in the field of Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) design.

News from NIPE | Investiture Ceremony
Nitte Institute of Professional Education organized the Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2026-27 on 7th August 2026 at the Institute Auditorium to formally entrust leadership responsibilities to the student leaders of various clubs and encourage them to discharge their duties with commitment, discipline and a sense of responsibility. The ceremony was graced by Ms. Vijayakranthi, KSPS, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru South, as the Chief Guest.
The oath-taking ceremony by the newly appointed leaders of different student clubs, formally marked their assumption of leadership responsibilities and reaffirmed their commitment to work for the welfare of the student community and contribute actively to the academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the institution.
The Investiture Ceremony was coordinated by Dr Pradeep K S and Dr Praveen N, faculty members of NIPE.

Nitte Institute of Professional Education in association with Abhyudaya - Placement Cell (Centre for Employability & Corporate Relations) and Elite – Entrepreneurship & Management Club, organized a Student Enrichment Session titled Campus to Corporate Mantra 5.0 on 5th August 2026 at the Seminar Hall, NIPE to provide students with valuable insights into the transition from campus life to the corporate environment. The program focused on employability, placement opportunities, professional expectations and the skills required to build a successful career.
The session featured two experienced resource persons from the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) - Mr. Hadrine H Pereira, Head, Corporate Relations & Placements and Mr. Syed Ismail Zabiulla, Manager, Corporate Relations & Placements.
Mr. Hadrine Pereira addressed the students on the importance of preparing themselves for the transition from the academic environment to the corporate world. His session provided students with insights into corporate expectations, employability, placement preparedness and the importance of developing professional competencies. He advised students to approach their career preparation with confidence and a proactive mindset.
Mr. Zabiulla shared valuable perspectives on corporate careers and placement opportunities emphasizing the significance of acquiring relevant skills, maintaining professional standards and preparing effectively for career opportunities.
The program provided an effective platform for students to understand the requirements of the corporate sector and reflect on their own career preparedness.
