Connecting ClassRooms - NSAMEMHS, Nitte

This is a unique Program of the British Council to break walls and build bridges of Friendship between schools in U.K. and India.

Dr. N. Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial Eng.Med.High School, a unit of Nitte Eduacation Trust has reaped the benefits of International Connections, right from 2007, when Global School Partnerships(GSP) were mooted by the British Council.

From 2007 onwards we have received grants for student-faculty exchange programs, earlier in the name of GSP and presently it continues with the nomenclature Connecting Classrooms. We have partnered with Hutchesons’ Grammar School, Scotland

This program supports teachers to learn new tools and develop skills for helping young people prepare for life and work in a globalised world. It makes young people’s learning richer, more varied, contemporary and exciting. Every year the Nitte and Scotland schools, work on mutual collaborative Projects, on any one of the Millenium Goal Topics so that these burning issues get addressed by the younger generation. The 2014.15 Challenge that the Nitte - Hutchie have taken up is – “Climatic Change, Man Responsible” Akiko Tomitaka and Samantha McArthur are the teachers accompanying the 4 pupils – Keziah Abbots, Kirsty Griffiths, Emma Pool and Emillie Naddell on the Feb.2015 Nitte visit. This is the ninth team from Scotland to visit Nitte and interact with our students.
