News from NIPT | 26th Annual Day Celebrations

The 26th Annual Day of NIPT was held on 19th April 2024 at K S Hegde Auditorium. The event started with a beautiful invocation by Ms. Gana Pilinja, alumna and welcome address by Ms. Aishwarya Nair, Asst. Professor. The presentation of the Annual Report 2023-24, was done by Prof. Dr. Dhanesh Kumar K U, Principal, wherein over 56 collegiate activities, along with institutional, faculty and student achievements were proudly displayed to the audience.

The Chief Guest, Nadoja Dr. Wooday P Krishna, President KGSN Bengaluru spoke about the need for discipline, order and uniformity in education. He appreciated the organising team for the meticulously executed event and wished all the students a great career. Presiding over the function, Honourable Chancellor, Shri N Vinaya Hegde, stressed the importance of physiotherapy in health and the benefits of exercise on mind and body alike. Prof. Dr. Tarpan H Shah, an esteemed alumnus from the 2007 batch of NIPT and currently an Associate Professor at Shrimad Rajchandra College of Physiotherapy, UKA Tarsadia University, Surat, Gujarat was invited as the Guest of Honour. He spoke about the journey of NIPT through the ages and how it has robustly stayed abreast with all the recent advances and equipment in the field of physiotherapy at international levels.

A noteworthy segment of the Annual Day was the felicitation of the non-teaching faculty, Mrs. Kalavathi Naik, Librarian; Mrs. Jyothi N, Computer Lab Assistant and Mrs. Veena U Rao, Library Assistant who had served the organisation for 25 years . Their contribution was applauded and appreciated. The Guest of Honour, Dr. Tarpan H Shah, was also felicitated for his contributions to the Institute as an alumnus as well as for his professional prowess in the field of Physiotherapy. The citations for the non-teaching faculty and alumni felicitations were announced by Prof. (Dr.) Purusotham Chippala and Rakesh Krishna Kovela, Assoc. Professor, respectively. The academic toppers, sports winners and the social service volunteers were awarded for their merit, excellence and humanitarian service. The batch winning the overall champions of the year was declared. The student awards were announced by Ms. Ruchita Narsia, Assistant Professor.

Ms. Kavya Bhat, General Secretary, Student’s Council, rendered her gratitude and shared her experiences as a representative of the student’s forum. Dr. Saumya Srivastava, Associate Professor, delivered the vote of thanks.

Parents, alumni and professional colleagues attended the Annual Day making the event a joyous and successful one. Formal event was followed by a beautiful cultural performance by the students.
