The morning session was handled by Dr. Lalitha Ashwath who elaborated on ‘Innovations in Teaching Learning in Higher Education Institutes and the effective use of the Library’. Tracing the growth of education in India, she went on to discuss the problems and the possible solutions for the gap in learning and Industry needs. Her address was peppered with stories and anecdotes that made the session interesting and informal while prompting discussion on several practical issues.
The post lunch session saw Dr. Srikantaswamy speak on ‘Total Quality Management in Higher Education Institutes’. Sharing his rich experience of over 42 tears in the education field, he was able to throw light on what is meant by quality when it comes to educational institutions. He gave certain guidelines that would help teachers to work towards total quality management and help the institutions grow into centres of excellence.
Overall, it was a productive day for the faculty members of both FGC and PUC.
