TEQIP-II Funded Three days Faculty Development Program - NMAMIT

TEQIP-II Funded Three days Faculty Development Program(FDP) on “Embedded System Design Based on ARM Cortex-M3” organized by the Department of Electrical and Electrical Engineering, N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte was inaugurated on December 19, 2016. Dr. I.R. Mithanthaya, Vice Principal and Dean (Academic), N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte inaugurated the FDP and expressed importance of FDPs in the present scenario to guide the students about latest trends and inventions in technology. Prof. K.V. Shettigar welcomed the gathering and briefed about the FDP. Mr. Praveen Rao M.S., Design Engineer, Klonec Systems Pvt. Ltd., gave a informative keynote address on “ Overview of Embedded Systems Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal and Dr. Srinivasa Rao, Vice Principal and COE, N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte graced the occasion. Faculty from St. Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor and N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte attended the program. ”. Mr. Raghavendra Prabhu presented vote of thanks to Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal, Dr. I. R. Mithanthaya, Dr. Nagesh Prabhu, HOD of E&E department for their encouragement in conducting the FDP and to all those who supported in arranging the function. Mr. Vishnuprasada V. Bhat, Proprietor, Swadeshee Pangala and Raghavendra Prabhu, Asst. Professor, Department of E&E, N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte conducted hands on sessions by making use of Swadeshee ARM Development Board. The FDP received positive response from the participants and they gained insight of programming ARM controllers. The workshop consisted of hands on sessions that covered topics such as LED blinking, Key sensing, External interrupts, Timers and counters, LCD Interfacing, ADC interfacing, Temperature Sensing and UART communication. Mr. Raghavendra Prabhu was the resource person for hands on sessions on day 2 and 3.






Valedictory function of the FDP was held at 4:00 PM on December 21, 2016. Mr. Gerald Harry Fernandes, Asst. Professor, Dept of C.S.E, St. Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor said that the FDP will be helpful to him to teach the subject of microprocessor according to revised syllabus which includes ARM Processor. Mr. Mahesh Kini, Asst. Professor, N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte expressed their feedback about the FDP and felt happy for attending an informative FDP with hands on sessions. The FDP concluded with the distribution of certificates to all the participants of the FDP.
