Guest lecture on ‘Application of Humanitarian law in Disaster Management’ - NUINS

The Youth Red Cross unit of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Constituent College of Nitte University organized a Guest lecture on ‘Application of Humanitarian law in Disaster Management’ on 21st January 2017 at Nitte Paneer campus auditorium, Mangalore. Prof. Dr. P. D. Sebastian, Principal, Nehru Academy of Law, Palakkad, and Emeritus Professor, S.D.M. Law college was the Guest Speaker. He spoke on the role of Red Cross volunteers in disaster situations as a humanitarian activist. He also emphasized on the application of humanitarian law in the context of civil war and conflicts. Prof. Mrs. Sabitha Nayak, Vice principal, college of nursing was the chief guest of the programme. Mrs. Latha. S, the Red Cross coordinator delivered the keynote address. Ms. Suhana, Red cross Staff member hosted the programme.110 Red Cross volunteers along with faculty members attended the programme.
