The Department of Physiology organized a CME / Symposium, "“ Fear and Anxiety- From brain mechanisms to clinical insights”" on 08-04-2017 at Charaka Hall, K.S.Hegde Medical Academy, Deralakatte Mangalore. The event was attended by more than 130 delegates from several institutions in and around Mangalore. Dr. Laxmi Rao, Neurophysiologist from NIMHANS, Bangalore, Dr. Anil Kakunje, Psychiatrist from Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore and Dr. Roopesh BN, Clinical Psychologist from NIMHANS, Bangalore were the resource persons for the symposium. The speakers discussed brain mechanisms of fear and anxiety, features of anxiety disorders and the principles of their management. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Shantaram Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of Nitte University and Dr. Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, Dean, KS Hegde Medical Academy presided over the function.
