The Science Association ‘Scientia’ was inaugurated on 3rd September 2019 by Mr. Shreesha Bhat, Lecturer, Vivekananda Degree College, Puttur who was the Chief guest for the occasion. Ms. Rashmitha, Lecturer in Chemistry introduced the chief guest. In his speech, Mr. Sreesha Bhat cited examples from his early life while explaining the benefits of participating in such Association activities.
Principal, Dr. Naveen Shetty K presided over the function. The main focus of his talk was on being innovative and the importance of the mutual exchange of knowledge. He inspired the students by mentioning a few quotes of Late A P J Abdul Kalam.
The Program in-charge Ms Pushpanjali, Lecturer in Computer Science presented the upcoming activities of the Association to the audience. This was followed by an inspiring PPT presentation by Mr. Rajath, Student Secretary explaining the launching of Chandrayaan II.
The Science Model Show was organized by various student teams. They explained the scientific principles behind the models. Some of the models exhibited were Straddling Bus, Smart Security Home, Water Conservation, Terrace Step Farming, Automatic Dustbin etc.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Prithveesh, Secretary of Science Association. The students from the science stream, Vice Principal Ms. Annapurna Naik, faculty members, and the media were present.
