The Student Council Inauguration and Freshers’ Day celebrations of Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research were held on 29th August 2019 at the University Auditorium, Paneer campus.
The formal induction program was held in the morning followed by the Freshers’ Day in the afternoon. Prof. Anirban Chakraborty, Deputy Director, NUCSER, welcomed the gathering. Prof. Raviraj, Head, Nitte Institute of Communication was the Chief Guest. He administered the oath to the office bearers and reminded the students on how responsible one should be in social media platforms. He cited several examples to emphasize on the need to be careful and not fall prey to the perils of wrong information that get circulated in social media.
Prof. Indrani Karunasagar, Director, NUCSER, in her presidential address, highlighted the duties of the office bearers and reminded the council members of their responsibilities. She acknowledged the support of the University in conducting these programs. Dr. Deekshit, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks.
In the afternoon, the cultural events marked the celebration of Freshers’ Day where the new students were welcomed by the seniors. Competitions were held for the best dressed Fresher (Male and Female). The new students put up splendid performances and the senior students also performed group events in the form of classical and film dances.
