News from NMAMIT | Importance of Web in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

Finite Loop is a Coders Club under Centre for Student Innovation (CFSI), NMAMIT, which aims at encouraging and inspiring students to realize their ideas through coding. Finite Loop in association with New Age Innovation Network (NAIN), Dept. of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, Govt. of Karnataka and IEEE Mangalore Sub Section [IEEE STB34551] organized its first event of the academic year 2020-21, a webinar on ‘Importance of Web in the era of Artificial Intelligence’ on 10th October 2020.

Dr. Gokul S Krishnan, Postdoctoral Researcher, Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, IIT Madras, Chennai was the chief guest.

The host Ms. Sahana Kulal extended a warm welcome to the chief guest, faculty coordinators and participants. Mr. Shashank Shetty, Founder & Director, Inspirante Technologies Pvt. Ltd. & Faculty coordinator, spoke about the purpose of the club and its journey towards establishing the start-up, Inspirante Technologies and the real-time projects undertaken.

Ms. Shrilakshmi Pai N, Vice President, Finite Loop, briefed about the projects and workshops conducted by the club during the period 2017-20. Ms. Shreelata Kini, III CSE student, introduced the office bearers of the Finite Loop 2020-21.

Mr. Sanath Pai, President, Finite Loop, presented the tentative plans for 2020-21. The Principal, Dr. Niranjan N Chiplunkar, congratulated the team for its enthusiasm in organizing the events despite the pandemic. Mr. Rahul Bhat, Secretary, Finite Loop introduced the chief guest to everyone. Dr. Gokul S Krishnan in his guest lecture, spoke about the evolution of the web. He discussed various versions through which the web has evolved, about Machine Learning, Internet of Things and the role of web & web services. In the two hours informative session, he provided glimpses of various trending technologies. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Akshatha Shetty, III CSE student.
