The Department of General Medicine, KS Hegde Medical Academy in association with API DK Chapter, organized a 2-day Mangalore API Interstate Conference, MAPICON 2022 on 16th & 17th December 2022 at Avishkar Auditorium, KSHEMA.
A total of 214 delegates participated in the conference. The postgraduate students from KSHEMA and neighboring colleges, were given the opportunity to present interesting clinical cases. They had fruitful discussions with teachers from all over Karnataka & Kerala, who moderated the sessions. Eminent speakers delivered talks on important current issues in medicine.
Oration programs were conducted on the occasion of the conference, in honor of 3 great physicians of Mangalore.
Dr. Amarnath Hegde Oration was delivered by Dr Govind Babu, Chairman, Karnataka API chapter on the topic “Impact of Biomarkers in Oncology”.
Dr. K P Ganesan Memorial Oration was delivered by Dr. M Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte University on “Osteoporosis & Osteoporotic related fractures - Current Challenges”.
Dr. V V Mody Memorial Oration was delivered by Dr. J P Alva, Sr. Physician, Ex-Dean Fr Muller Medical College on “Medical Education at Crossroads”.
Paper and poster presentations were held for the postgraduates. 45 papers and 28 posters were presented on the occasion. Cash prizes were awarded for the Best Paper and Best Poster at the valedictory function.
