News from MRSMEMHS | A talk on ‘Hearing loss due to usage of gadgets’

The Dept. of ENT, KSHEMA organised a talk on ‘Hearing loss due to usage of gadgets’ at Dr. MRSMEMS, Thokur to create an awareness in children about the impact of noise on their ability to hear. Dr. G Srinikethan , Director, R & D (Technical), Nitte University gave an introductory speech on the importance of ears and the need to keep them safe from loud noise.

Mr. Vivek, Asst. Environment Officer, State Pollution Control Board introduced the students to the mandated norms for producing sound in different localities and differences between music and noise.

Prof. (Dr.) Rajeshwari A, Dept. of ENT, KSHEMA gave the students insights on identification of hearing imparity at an early age to restore auditory sense. Dr. Shravan Alva, Asst. Professor, Dept. of ENT presented a PPT on aspects of hearing.

An essay competition was held for the students of middle & secondary sections on ‘Noise Induced Hearing Loss’ and prizes were distributed on 3rd March, on the occasion of ‘World Hearing Day’ at KSHEMA.
