National Science Day was observed in Dr. M Ramanna Shetty Memorial English Medium High School on 28th February by organising ‘Kaushalya 2023’ – a Science & Mathematics Exhibition.
Mr. Atul Bhat, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Physics, Poornaprajna College, Udupi inaugurated the event. In his address, he recalled the contribution of Sir CV Raman and the qualities that he possessed which paved his path towards winning the Nobel Prize in 1932. The contribution of Indians in the field of science is immense, he said and advised students to learn from lives of great scientists like Michel Faraday. He also urged students to develop a scientific temperament and improvise their models.
Principal Ms. Shreelatha Rao in her address said life is impossible without science. She stressed the need for finding a balance between innovations and improvisations, bearing in mind the sustainability of our environment.
More than 30 working Science models and 50 Mathematics models were exhibited by the students. Age old agricultural implements were also showcased in the exhibition.
