NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March 2023, the theme being “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”.
Ms. Sadhana Deshmukh, Director, Staff Development Centre, Nitte DU was the Chief Guest. She elaborated on the theme of Women’s Day 2023 and said the presence of women in prominent positions of power are statistically less. Women should consider the reasons for this and should try to up-skill themselves so that they can compete for important positions of power and skill.
The guest speaker Prof. Rashmi Bhandary, Dean - Training, Placement & Career Guidance Cell, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru spoke on Career, Finance and Health in relation to women and encouraged women to opt to be a salaried person irrespective of whatever other role they have to take in life, so that they can be financially secure.
Undergraduates, Postgraduates, research scholars and teaching & non-teaching staff attended the program. The Vice Principal, Dr. Narayana Charyulu proposed the vote of thanks.
