The Placement Cell of NGSMIPS in association with the Departments of Pharmaceutics and Pharmacy Practice, organized a webinar titled "Hand Holding: The Way Forward" on 28th January 2025 for PharmD interns and postgraduates.
Dr. R Narayana Charyulu, Principal, NGSMIPS introduced the speakers, Dr. Banylla Felicity D. Gatphoh, Associate Scientific Writer, Indegene, Bengaluru; Dr. Natasha Naval Aggarwal, Associate Scientific Writer, Indegene, Bengaluru & Mr. Rishi Choudhury, Associate Scientific Writer, Indegene, Bengaluru and provided a brief overview of the program.
Dr. Banylla Felicity D Gatphoh provided insights into her role as an Associate Scientific Writer. She emphasized the importance of understanding research papers & gaining knowledge in therapeutic areas, drug dosages and mechanisms of action and mastering grammar, idioms and written communication. She also covered various types of research studies and the phases of clinical trials. She acknowledged Nitte University’s contribution to her professional growth.
Dr. Natasha Naval Aggarwal explained her role at Indegene and the different interview rounds involved in the hiring process. Emphasizing the importance of thorough preparation before an interview, she elaborated on the significance of grammar in scientific writing, summarizing research publications and abstract preparation. She provided an overview of reading research papers, types of articles, the hierarchy of evidence, reference styles and the use of reference management software. Additionally, she highlighted her responsibilities in reviewing systematic reviews, developing posters, writing abstracts and creating slide decks for oral presentations.
Mr. Rishi Choudhury briefed on his roles and responsibilities within the company. He provided insights into market teamwork, pricing and reimbursement strategies. He explained different types of market research and how they function and emphasized the importance of preparing a well-structured CV, what to include in it and how to answer interview questions effectively.
