A health education program was conducted at Ranera Keri, Bailur, by interns Dr Teesta Shetty and Dr Unnimaya P V, posted at Justice K S Hegde Memorial Health Centre, Bailur on 21st May 2019. The program was held under the guidance of Dr Sanjay Kini, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine. The target audience was women and children.
Women were educated on non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension, their risk factors, clinical manifestations, prevention and control. Children were educated on personal hygiene, hand washing techniques and the importance of proper nutrition. The program was conducted in Tulu and Kannada and was followed by an interactive question and answer session.
