News from NUINS | Staff development program on the subject, ‘Building Resilience.’

Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, in collaboration with Faculty Development Centre, Nitte (Deemed to be University), organized a staff development program on the subject, ‘Building Resilience’, for the non-teaching staff on 11th December 2020.

The program was inaugurated by Mrs. Sadhana Deshmukh, Director FDC, NitteDU, and was presided over by Prof. Dr. Fatima Dsilva, Principal NUINS. Prof. Dr Jacintha Veigas, Program Coordinator conducted the proceedings. Mr. Sukesh Shetty, Asst. Professor, NUINS was the resource person.

The sessions were interesting and interactive. Meditation, Laughter Therapy for stress management, problem-solving, conflict management, and decision-making techniques were taught to the participants using different scenarios and with the help of appropriate videos.

The group observed all the COVID-19 precautions. Pre-test and post-test were administered to the participants to assess the effectiveness of the session. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the program coordinator.
