News from NUCSER | Interpersonal skills for a professional career

The Placement Cell of Nitte University Centre for Science Education & Research conducted a career guidance program on 15th July 2022, on the theme “Interpersonal skills for a professional career”. Mr Ronald Mascarenhas, Sr. Gen. Manager, Syngene International Ltd. was the resource person. The program was conducted for the undergraduate and post graduate students to help them develop good and efficient writing skills when applying for jobs. Prof. Smitha Hegde, Dy. Director, NUCSER welcomed the guest speaker and presented a token of appreciation.

Mr. Ronald Mascarenhas gave a brief introduction about Syngene International Ltd. The session started with a discussion on the need for an accurately drafted resume. He explained the vital factors that can make a resume look impressive to the interviewer. He also mentioned the capabilities that companies look for in interviewees. Intellectual horsepower, positive attitude and practical approach were some of the qualities that were most highlighted. He also enlisted the possible questions raised by the interviewer and the skill of answering the soft questions and also advised to be prepared to answer to frequently asked questions.

The session was very interactive and students participated enthusiastically. Dr. Akhila DS, Member Secretary of the institute's Placement and Career Guidance Cell coordinated the program and proposed the vote of thanks.
