The third-year students of Nitte Institute of Hospitality Services organised a Bollywood Retro Theme Lunch, titled ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ in the newly renovated training restaurant of the college at Kodakal, Mangalore on Saturday, 21st of January, 2023.
The event provided the students with real life experience & exposure to hone their skills of event management, menu planning, costing, pricing, production, plating and serving. The theme lunch had a vast array of delicacies from across India. The four course set menu included Panipuri shots, Tomato/ Mutton Shorba, Hariyali Kebab, Murg Changezi with Tawa pulps and a Paan mousse with Gulab jamun and ghewar - all priced at ₹ 249/-
In keeping with the theme, the restaurant was decorated with Bollywood classics paraphernalia while the students at the reception counters and restaurant were dressed in typical Bollywood Retro Style. Refreshing mocktails named after popular bollywood movies such as Agnipath, Zanjeer, Aashiqui … were served too.
80 guests who included businessmen, families and students got a taste of the golden era of Bollywood cinema through dance, music and games performed and conducted by the students.
