The Orientation program for B.Sc (Hons) Biomedical Science students was held on 1st August 2023 at the University Auditorium, Paneer campus in the presence of the university officials. Shri Vishal Hegde, Pro-Chancellor, Nitte (DU), presided over the function, while Prof. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The function also had the esteemed presence of Dr. Prasad B Shetty, Controller of Examination, and Col. B S Ghivari (Retd), Assistant Director (Student Affairs) at Nitte (DU), as Guests of Honour.
Prof. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Director NUCSER, extended a warm welcome to the students, parents and distinguished guests, emphasizing the institute's unique attributes that set it apart from others. During his presidential address, Shri Vishal Hegde shed light on the genesis of the Nitte group of Institutions, highlighting its remarkable journey as a hub of education and healthcare in this region. He shared the institution's profound impact on shaping the future of education and healthcare, underscoring its commitment to fostering academic excellence and providing affordable healthcare services to society. The formal function was concluded with words of gratitude from Prof. Dr. Smitha Hegde, Dy. Director, NUCSER. Mrs. Neetha Shetty, Office Superintendent, compered the formal function.
After the formal function, Col. B S Ghivari (Retd) addressed the parents and the newly admitted students on the hostel facilities and other amenities available in the campus. Prof. Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, in his presentation about the scope of the program, familiarized the students and parents about the faculty members, the various academic programs offered and the institutional regulations. He made particular emphasis on the seamless integration of the National Education Policy 2020 into the institute's academic framework, highlighting the vast opportunities it opens for the students.
Dr. Ramya Harsha, Dr. Juliet Mohanraj and Dr Akhila DS, faculty of NUCSER, briefed the gathering on the anti-ragging policy, attendance monitoring system, activities of the Placement and Career guidance cell. Ms. Varsha Shetty, PhD Scholar shared the details of the Alumni Association (Adhyetha) activities.
