News from MRSMEMHS | Nitte Climate Action Programme (NCAP)

With the aim to transform our world, Nitte Deemed to be University in collaboration with Dr M Ramanna Shetty Memorial English Medium High School launched Nitte Climate Action Programme (NCAP) on 26th October 2023 at the School.

Mr James Cutinho, Block Education Officer, Mangalore North, the Chief guest inaugurated the five- year program. “The University`s approach to bring awareness on climate change is commendable”, said Mr. Cutinho. He also suggested that the program should be widened to whole of the district.

Prof. Dr MS Moodithaya who presided over the function opined that small positive changes in our lifestyle could make a huge impact on our environment.

Registrar, Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Guest of honour urged that global problems are not beyond our power to resolve. He said that Nitte DU encourages and sets platform for young minds with better ideas which may resolve global problems. Prof. Dr Smitha Hegde gave an introductory speech and a brief gist of NCAP. The Principal, Ms. Shreelatha welcomed the gathering and Ms. Vani Jayaraj proposed the vote of thanks.

Students from 7 neighboring schools witnessed the launch and they were given a presentation on NCAP after the inauguration program.
