The Dept. of Public Health Dentistry, ABSMIDS in association with Padupanambur Gram Panchayat conducted a training program on Oral Health, as a part of Unnat Bharath Abhiyaan for the ASHA workers of Attur Kemral Primary Health Centre on 20.12.2024. The main objective was to train the health workers to promote oral health, identify & prevent common oral diseases, provide first-aid in dental emergency and appropriately refer to the dentists for needful treatment.
Dr. Sahana Maben, Clinical Coordinator, ABSMIDS was the resource person. The participants were informed about the necessity of maintaining good oral hygiene, brushing twice daily, using fluoridated tooth paste and consuming nutritious diet for leading a healthy life. The importance of abstaining from use of tobacco products was stressed and the tooth brushing method was demonstrated.
Dr. Ancilla Patrao, CMO, Attur Kemral PHC, Mrs. Sujatha, Sr. PHO and Mrs. Veena, ASHA Facilitator were present. 28 ASHA workers and 6 Primary Health Care officers participated in this training program.
