News from NISH | International Yoga Day

The NSS unit of Nitte Institute of Speech & Hearing (NISH) organized a session to commemorate the International Yoga Day on 21st June 2025 at Avishkar Auditorium, ABSMIDS. The session aimed to highlight the importance of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being, with a special emphasis on its relevance to the field of Speech and Hearing. Prof. (Dr) Jayashree S Bhat and Assistant Professors Ms. Swati Goyal & Ms. Archana Rai of NISH served as resource persons for the event.

Dr. Jayashree Bhat led the session with an engaging demonstration of yogaasanas and breathing techniques, illustrating their role in improving posture, vocal resonance, respiratory support and overall communication. The session also explored the link between yoga practices and vestibular rehabilitation, making it particularly relevant for speech and hearing professionals.

The faculty members and students of Nitte Institute of Speech & Hearing actively participated in the program.
