The Department of Urology, KSHEMA conducted a CME on 16th November 2025, focused on "Conquering Early Carcinoma Prostate." The CME was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr) K.R. Bhagavan, HoD, General Surgery, KSHEMA.
Prof. (Dr) Rajeev TP, HoD, Urology, welcomed the gathering. A surgical demonstration session was held on 15th November 2025 featuring two cases of Robot-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy (RARP) performed by the resource persons - Dr. Srivatsa N, Consultant Uro Oncologist, Shankara Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Bengaluru and Dr. Arun R Menon, Consultant Uro Oncologist, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre, Kochi.
Insights into focal therapy for carcinoma prostate was discussed by Dr. Abheesh Hegde, Consultant Urologist, Fr. Muller Medical College. Dr Kamalaksh Shenoy, Consultant Radiation Oncologist, AJ Hospital discussed in detail about role of radiotherapy in localized carcinoma prostate. The experts delivered detailed explanations, augmented by informative videos, covering the latest advancements and protocols in the field. The inclusion of a quiz session added an interactive element, ensuring active participation and knowledge assimilation among the delegates. A total number of 76 delegates attended the program.
